At Wheatbelt Psychology, our mission is to make quality mental health support accessible to the people of Wheatbelt. We understand that in regional areas, finding reliable mental health services can be challenging.

Our practice is led by a team of highly experienced and empathetic professionals who bring a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to the well-being of our clients. We understand that each individual is unique, and we work from a person-centered perspective to recognise and celebrate the strengths of every person we work with.

At Wheatbelt Psychology, we embrace and celebrate neurodiversity. We are proud to be a welcoming and affirming space for clients from all backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+. We believe that all people are the experts in their own experiences, and we work closely with each client to understand their unique needs and goals.

Lauren

I am a registered psychologist experienced in working with a wide range of clients. I am passionate about bringing quality therapy services to the Wheatbelt, where people often struggle to find providers or have to travel for services. I’ve been working consistently in the Wheatbelt since 2020.

I’m also a mum to three energetic boys (who have taught me more than any formal training!!) so I understand the challenges involved in parenting and being ‘everything to everyone’.

I aim to be neurodiversity affirming, understanding and celebrating that all people are different. I am LGBTIAQ+ affirmative and informed, sex work positive, and inclusive of diverse relationship structures. To do this, I work from a person centred perspective, working with the client to understand their personal strengths. I recognise that all people are the experts in their own experiences, and will work closely with you to understand your needs and goals.

I engage in regular professional learning and training and use a variety of current evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.

My education includes a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Curtin University in 2011, Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health from Griffith University in 2014 and a Graduate Diploma of School Psychology from UWA in 2019.

Sang

I am a provisional psychologist experienced with disability presentations in the NDIS, adolescent mental health, and parent mental health coaching. Before becoming a clinician, I was a disability support worker for six years, providing me with a strong foundation for forming therapeutic relationships with clients. I firmly believe that therapy isn't just somebody who is a professional in a clinic, but who can be a supporter in the field as well.

I love video games and am familiar with all the new generation greats (according to the kids!) - like Fortnite, Roblox, Pokemon, and Minecraft - and I love using this knowledge to provide a safe and fun space for my younger clients. I am quick to learn the ins-and-outs of a person's interests and not only do I love hearing about what makes a person tick, but I think it can be an extremely valuable tool to therapy.

I have experience in providing services to queer clients, e.g. gender non-conforming individuals, and am closely aligned with neurodiversity affirming care, understanding that sometimes the classic model for therapy services just won't cut it for everyone. Our services are person-centred and do not go ahead without full understanding between both the client and myself.

I can provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT; proactive and practical ways to challenge our negative thoughts), short-term Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT; hands-on strategies to addressing deep-seated negative mental processes and practical strategies to help you in the moment), motivational interviewing, developing problem-solving frameworks for ongoing day-to-day concerns, and psycho-education around the function of our negative feelings and how we can address those.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Curtin University in 2016. I have been practising as Provisional Psychologist since 2021 and I have no greater passion than this field of practice.

I am based in Perth and travel to Northam one day per fortnight.

Arrianne

I am a behaviour support practitioner working in the NDIS space with clients across the lifespan.

I have worked with participants, their families and other service providers to improve their quality of life.

I have recently relocated to the Wheatbelt after working and living in Perth. I have 2 children and enjoy knitting, craft, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

I have been working in the NDIS space for 3 years but have 30 years of personal experience living with a person with intellectual disability, and have experienced firsthand the impact that challenging behaviours can have on a family. My goal has always been to give back to families like mine in return for all the amazing assistance we received. I am passionate about finding solutions that work, in collaboration with people I support.

I have completed additional training in neurodiversity affirming practice, trauma informed therapy, and person centred, individualised services.

My qualification is a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Edith Cowan University, completed in 2014. I do not practice as a Speech Pathologist but have a strong understanding of how significantly communication difficulties can impact a person’s life.

I provide services in Northam, York, Toodyay and surrounds, as well as the South Eastern suburbs of Perth.

Chloe

I am a behaviour support practitioner working with clients across the lifespan.

I am experienced in dementia, acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders such as Huntingtons Disease. I have also worked in disability justice.

I have a diploma in Counselling. I have completed the Team Teach training in how to provide safe physical handling when needed. I’ve worked as a Support Coordinator for over two years and so have a strong understanding of the NDIS and how to navigate the confusing system.

I live in the Wheatbelt and know how difficult it is to find services and supports when needed! In my spare time, I like to ride horses, bikes and enjoy training with the West Coast Cowboys when I get time to fit it in!

I provide services in Cunderdin, Merredin, Brookton, Narrogin, and Boddington, as well as the South Eastern suburbs of Perth.
